Children & Young People

We have adopted the Church of England House of Bishops’ policy on Child Protection for all our work with children. All our volunteers have completed a DBS check and work under close supervision.

What’s on at All Saints for Children and Young People

On Sundays

Unfortunately we do not currently have the leaders available to be able to offer Junior Church or Sunday School on a Sunday morning. However children are welcome to sit with their parents in church and those with pre-school children may wish to sit in or near the Children's Corner towards the front of the church on the south side where children can play safely and complete a gospel related worksheet each Sunday if they wish.

If babies need changing, feeding, or calming down then you are welcome to use the toilet, the kitchen and the Mary Bass Room under the tower if you need to.

Each month, on the 1st Sunday, we have a service of All-Age Worship at 10.30 am. This is planned with families and children in mind and is about 40-50 minutes long. Occasionally this service may include communion. Children are encouraged (if they want to) to take an active role in this service in processions, drama, music or artwork.

Other activities for Children & Young People

All Saints Choir - Children who enjoy singing are welcomed into our choir from the age of about 8. They should be able to read but will be taught all the music they need. Choir practices are currently held on a Friday evening from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm. The choir sings at our 10.30am Sunday Service on the first and third Sundays of the month and at other special services and also for weddings (for which they get paid!). The choir is affiliated to the Royal School of Church Music (RSCM) and children are encouraged to take part in the Voice for Life scheme and earn coloured ribbons as they develop their musical skills and commitment.
