Welcome to All Saints Church in Holbeach.

Our church is the only Anglican (Church of England) church in the town and serves a population of some 8000 people.

The church dates back to 1225, and so has been a place of witness and worship where God has been honoured for the past 800 years.

For all of those 800 years All Saints has been here for the whole community of Holbeach. It has baptised, married and buried local people; it has been a place of thanksgiving during times of joy and celebration; and a place of sombre prayer and intercession during times of plague and national or local mourning. Its’ very stones hold more prayer and memories than we can possibly imagine, and it still stands to fulfil the same purpose for the people of the 21st century.

Is the church open during the day?

The church is open every day from 9.00 am until 4.00 pm in the winter and until 5.00 pm or later in the summer and everyone is welcome to come and have a look round and enjoy the architecture or to experience its’ stillness and spend a while in prayer or meditation.

The Lady Chapel on the left hand side of the church is set aside for quiet prayer and there are bibles, a prayer board and votive candles for your use.

What kind of worship do you offer?

We aim to be a welcoming and inclusive worshipping community of some 150 people. We gather together on a Sunday morning at 10.30 am for a Common Worship Eucharist, with hymns led by a robed choir, and a sermon. We also have a Book of Common Prayer service of Choral Evensong at 6.30 pm on a Sunday evening.

We have a well-supported weekday Communion service on a Wednesday at 9.30 am which lasts about 30 minutes and is followed by refreshments in the Mary Bass Room under the tower.

On the First Sunday of the month we have a Book of Common Prayer said Communion Service at 8.00 am followed by an All-Age Worship Service at 10.30 am which is particularly suitable for younger families and lasts for about 40-50 minutes.

On a fifth Sunday, instead of Evensong at 6.30 pm we have an alternative Be Still service. This is a quiet reflective service which includes readings, prayer and recorded music and sometimes includes communion lasting about 40 minutes.
